The goal of peermindfulness.org is to offer a supportive space to practice mindfulness and meditation. Meditations at peermindfulness.org are peer-oriented, open-hearted, and accessible to all, to the best of our abilities and resources. Although our meditations are not support groups, we provide a supportive space to learn and practice mindfulness and meditation together.NO RELIGIOUS OR SPIRITUAL AFFILIATION:
As an organization, peermindfulness.org has no religious or spiritual affiliation. All are welcome to attend our events.INVITATION, TIMELINESS, AND MUTUAL RESPECT:
We welcome newcomers! If you wish to attend one of our meditations, please get in contact with us (see Contact Form).
We appreciate timely arrivals, but should you arrive late to a meditation, we ask you to please join quietly.WHAT TO EXPECTBEFORE THE MEDITATION: We begin with an introduction to the practice of mindfulness meditation and our guidelines for practice.DURING THE MEDITATION: During the period of the practice, we ask everyone to turn off microphones to prevent background noise. Some people prefer to turn their cameras off at this time, but it's fine to leave your camera on or off, as you choose.AFTER THE MEDITATION: After practice, we offer an optional discussion to share our experiences of the day’s meditation. All are free to participate at their comfort level, or simply to listen.
Our intention in sharing experiences of the meditation is to support each other’s practice of mindfulness and meditation. Because peermindfulness.org is a peer space of non-directive accompaniment, we emphasize using “I” statements to describe our own personal experiences.
